ABOUT

Michelle Lynn Dyrness' work involves the search for the allusive recognition, the suggestive imaginary, the second and third glance that illumines the strangely familiar while remaining elusive and transient. Inviting accident with an intuitive process, she challenges preconceived ideas of what may transpire. The result is a stream of consciousness fallout where composition is baited and sought with suggestive forms, often including text as a counter-element that challenges one's notion of engaging with words alongside images. Her practice primarily comprises works on paper which include collage, prints, ephemera, handmade pamphlets, books and other handheld and easily disseminated objects.
