ongoing work: The Polarities Project (at the gates of fortune lives a long, dry heat)
The Polarities Project began during the pandemic in response to the cumulative disparities erupting around us. It is a growing library of handmade books, collages, drawings and hybrid objects that indirectly address these disparities in ways that are not always obvious, but use suggestion and allegory. There are four interrelated themes that ebb and flow out of these pieces: Stolen Cypress [land degradation], A Bored Tycoon [wealth disparities], The Half-life of Spring [extremes in climate due to climate change], and The Land of If and When [the intimate human struggle in the face of these extremes].
